“But as many as receive Him, to them
He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His
name”—John 1:12
Easter is celebrated throughout the world. The meaning of Easter is more than an Easter
Bunny, coloring eggs, and having a good meal.
Easter is the day that Christian’s gather around the world in
commemoration and celebration to worship the resurrected Lord. Statics show that more people attend church
on Easter than any other day. I think
that the reason people may seem more drawn to church on Easter Sunday is
because they are looking for answers and hope in their lives.
Jesus is the Hope of the world. Hope is the reason that people want to continue
to live when faced with life threatening illnesses. When Jesus rose from the dead, He forever
changed our human perspective on death.
His victorious return from the grave is proof that death has been
vanquished. Man’s ancient enemies, sin,
and death, no longer threaten those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Lord. For Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life; he that beleiveth in Me, though
he were dead, yet shall be live” (John 11:25).
The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that there is
another dimension of life. For He
promised, “I go to prepare a place for
you. I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye
may be also” (John 14: 2-3). This
assures us that Jesus Christ will raise all who believe in Him. This good news is worth celebrating!
Prayer—Father, make
real to me the glorious hope of the resurrection, in Jesus Name. Amen.
